Reiki and energy healing are often used interchangeably, but they have subtle differences.

It involves the practitioner channeling universal life force energy through their hands to promote healing and balance in the recipient's body, mind, and spirit. Reiki is typically conducted through a series of hand placements on or near the body, and it follows a structured system of attunements and symbols.

On the other hand, energy healing is a broader term encompassing various practices that involve manipulating the body's energy fields to facilitate healing. While Reiki is one form of energy healing, there are many other techniques that differ in approach, methodology, and cultural origins. For example, practices like acupuncture, acupuncture, Qi Gong, pranic healing, and crystal therapy all fall under the umbrella of energy healing but employ distinct techniques and principles.

What sets Reiki apart from other forms of energy work is its unique lineage, symbols, and attunement process. Reiki practitioners undergo specific training and receive attunements from Reiki masters to initiate and enhance their ability to channel Reiki energy. The use of symbols and hand placements is also a distinctive feature of Reiki, as these are believed to amplify the healing energy and direct it to specific areas of the body. Additionally, Reiki emphasizes the practitioner's role as a channel for universal energy rather than relying solely on their personal energy reserves. While other energy healing modalities may share some similarities with Reiki, each has its own philosophy, techniques, and approach to healing.
